I'm a newer 7100 owner (Sep 2008) - I'm currently running the only officially released firmware (20091029.upd)
Before it's availability, I'd experienced a few issues (I'm now on my 3rd 7100 in just 6 weeks! - my tale of woe available at http://forum.itopfield.com.au/Topic10962-55-1.aspx).
The long-awaited first 7100 firmware update has been well received, however it's customary in industry to also provide a changelog denoting all issues/bugs addressed.
It would be helpful to make a readme/changelog available for download along with the firmware - if it were to include a cumulative changelog ie. also including all beta fixes/issues, I'm sure it would avoid a lot of user headaches, support calls and unit returns/exchanges in future.
