G'day from Queensland. Today purchased a new TF7010HT and despite following all installation instructions have so far been unable to get any response on the STB beyond a display (on STB) which looks like "L3.10" then changes quickly to "run" then moves to settle on a display which looks like 3 short (approx 6mm long) horizontal bars, positioned one above above another followed by the letters "ENU". The remote control does no more than turn power on/off. TV screen has a distorted, constantly moving display. I would hope someone in this forum might be able to assist me and recommend a corrective course of action. This is my first post, any response would be appreciated. Thanks

These comments are somewhat generic as I have no experience with the model STB you have.

How is it connected to your TV?
What sort of TV is it?

After switch on and when it looks to have finished starting up have you tried changing the video out resolution by pressing the V.Format button (below the power on/off button on the remote) once then wait to see if you have a picture and if not press it again and wait a second or so and so on. This should toggle through the various video out formats. The aim being to see if you can find one acceptable to your set-up and TV.

If you get a picture of the Menu you should then be able to set-up the STB, scan for services etc.

If you don't have any success take it back for an exchange and get the retailer to set it up before you leave, assuming this is possible.

Have you scanned the channels? On mine, after the "run" is displayed it should go straight to the last channel selected.

I have the STB connected to an LG 42PX11 plasma, via the component video connector ( Y, Pb & Pr sockets). Yes I have tried changing video out resolution by using the V.Format button. All to no avail. No disscernable display on TV screen

Today I disconnected from the TV and tried with/without antenna fitted. No change, STB display still cycles through L3.10>run>ENU (with the before described 3x horizontal bars)

As I am unable to move beyond this fixed display I must accept I may have a lemon on my hands and , as you suggest Robert, have to take it back to the store. I was hoping there might be a 'factory reset' button hidden somewhere but guess this is not the case.

Thanks for replies to date. I will return STB to the store on Tuesday and post comments on their response in this forum.

MENU is what is showing on front panel.

Press OK button. What does it say?

SYS  (-3)
TIME (-2)
FILE  (-1)
INST   <- You want this.
FAV  (+1)
INFO (+2)

Use the above as a guide. If it says SYS, first press MENU (for previous menu) then press P- 3 times, then OK and it should say INST (for installation menu).

When you find "INST", press OK, P+, OK, then wait 3-4 minutes for service scan to complete. Then press OK. Then Exit.

Then you will have all your channels. Change channels using P+/P-.

In order to get a picture on TV, try pressing V.format button (you propably need to press it twice, but you may need to press it more times as there are 5 different video formats), wait a few seconds between each press.

If you have an old 4:3 TV, try pressing the A/R button. Once will be enough.

Tried that Indigo, without any success. No matter which button I press, on either remote or STB, I can't move display beyond what you believe is the MENU display. All I see are these infuriating 3x short horizontal bars followed by the letters ENU. Can't see any other options for me, other than returning it to the retailer at Gatton, which I intend doing today.

It's fixed! Retailer saw the problem I was encountering but was able to basically do what you advised Indigo. Without seeing the menu displayed, he pushed buttons in the correct sequence, based on his experience and eventually the desired result was achieved.

He didn't know why we had that minor glitch but the main thing is, I'm now satisfied I do not have a dodgy unit.

Excellent service from the retailer, R.T.Edwards @ Gatton. Thanks to those of you who offered assistance. Dave

I just bought this box today and have been scratching my head all afternoon with what could be the problem..

Then I stumble onto this post and low and behold...this is exactly what mine is doing.? It must be a common problem straight out of the box.

I will try the above mentioned fix and see if it works before taking back to the retailer.

Well I've tried and I couldn't get the thing to do what its supposed to so I'll take it back and see if they will replace it
